4B.1 Partitives and definite articles

Use the partitive articles in French to express some or any. To form the partitive use the preposition de followed by a definite article. Affirmative: du, de la, de l', des, Negative: de, d'
Use the definite article: le, la, l' or les when the verb expresses a like or dislike. The definite article does NOT change forms in the negative like the partitive does!
