SP034b - Lección 5.2b - Showing Basic Possession with Possessive Adjectives

If you don't know the gender of a noun you are referring to, check here:  http://www.wordreference.com/ Make sure you have selected Spanish to English. Using English to Spanish is not recommended because you will make many of the same errors that an online translator will produce.

Play this game until you earn at least 11 questions correct, earning at least 11 Euros. (Euros is the name of money in Spain and other parts of Europe.)

How do you decide?

1. If the thing you are referring to is plural, the word for my or your, etc. will also be plural >

mi libro vs. mis libros

2. my = mi or mis
your = usually tu or tus*
{This can be other words depending on how formal the "you" is - if it's a person with a title, a stranger - any Usted - then your is su or sus. There are also forms that go with vosotros, but we aren't using those here.}
his = su or sus
her = su or sus
their = su or sus

our = nuestro, nuestra, nuestros, nuestras
You will USUALLY decided on the form that matches the thing you are describing at the end - this is not always the case, though, because some noun genders are irregular.

most common example:
nuestro hermano
nuestra hermana
nuestros hermanos
nuestras hermanas
