About me
COACHING BIO:
Annie Bennett, was the head Cheer coach at LOMS for the past three years, was named the head coach for LOMS softball and volleyball teams on August 30, 2004.
“Annie is the perfect person to lead our softball program,” stated Cathy Gerbino, Director of Athletics. “She brings to LOMS a tremendous background, both as a high school coach and collegiate athlete. Under her direction, I feel that we can take both programs to another level.”
Annie brings a wealth of experience from her high school and college playing days and from her experiences as a pitching instructor of the Long Island Softball Camp and Oceanside High School’s varsity softball program.

Bennett majored in Media and Communications, Elementary Education and Physical Education receiving a bachelors, masters degree, and her Physical Education certification from Hofstra University.

Bennett began playing softball for fun in the spring of 1987. She was asked to play for her High School team and her love for the sport grew rapidly. She played Varsity softball at Oceanside High School and was a dedicated team player. She thanks her coach Dotty Lynch for her inspiration and dedication.

Bennett began pitching her senior year after attending a softball clinic. Bennett then went on to play Division II softball for Kutztown University and then played for SUNY Old Westbury after transferring. While there she received MVP and Women’s Athlete of the Year awards.

Bennett continues to play in recreational leagues but plans to participate in more competitive leagues this summer.

Coach Bennett resides in Levittown with her husband, and sons Bennett and Justin.

THEATER BIO:
Annie attended her first Broadway show, Annie,  at the age of 5. Awe inspired, Annie's love for the theater was instantanious! She left the theater singing, Tomorrow and all around her was forced to learn it as well.

At the age 7, Annie auditioned for the movie of the same name. To her dismay she was turned down even though she has the same EXACT name as the character.

Annie's love for acting grew; she kept her head high and enjoyed taking part in theater, movies and commercial work.

Her love for entertaining continues and she enjoys sharing the theater with the community of Island Park!
