About me |
I was born and raised in the southern city of Ponce, Puerto Rico. I have 2 sisters and 1 brother. My siblings live in Puerto Rico, Ohio and Florida. My parents moved our family to Michigan in 1987, and that same year I started as a freshman at Wayne State University. I knew almost no English but carried a very large dictionary with me to WSU everyday, even as I took the daily bus ride from Wyandotte to Wayne State. I put a lot of effort into learning my new language and culture, and I found success:) I started working at WSU, and at the Detroit Institute of Arts later on. It was at the DIA where I met my husband. We got married in 1994 and have 3 sons. Can you guess who my boys are? :) :) I started teaching at THS in 1993. I LOVE teaching Spanish language and culture to my students, and hope that you find it interesting and fun, and want to learn it too. |
