About me |
I understand the frustrations language learners face and how to deal with these frustrations because I have studied and taught the intricacies of English for almost three decades in the U.S., Europe, and the Middle East. Everywhere I have taught, my teaching, leadership, and program development ideas have been highly lauded; and as a result, I have been asked to mentor other teachers one-on-one, through in-services, as a presenter at TESOL teaching conferences in California, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, and Florida, and also as an ESL teacher trainer for Oxford Seminars. Additional relevant experience I have to offer includes being a member of the teams producing Computer Assisted Language Learning at the American University in Cairo, the American University's ESL textbook series, and the ESL Life Prints series. Recently, I established my own company, SLESL--Second Life for English as a Second Language. We explore and develop new teaching approaches and technologies through interactive, immersive online lessons in the virtual world known as Second Life. SLESL is dedicated to creating and delivering innovative language learning experiences through your keyboards and headsets. We strive to make it possible for language learners anywhere in the world to have inexpensive access to highly qualified teachers who are native speakers of English and who incorporate the latest technological and pedagogical strategies. |
