About me

I have been teaching at St. Mary's Springs in Fond du Lac, WI since 1999, following 3 years at Lourdes High School in Oshkosh. My passion is German, but I also thoroughly enjoy teaching American Literature.

I grew up in Sheboygan, WI, and earned my B.A. from Lawrence University in Appleton, WI in 1991. At that time I was not planning on teaching, but I couldn't deny it was in my blood. After a few years in the business world in Milwaukee, I returned to college (Marian University) to obtain my teaching license. After a fabulous student teaching semester in the public school with a great mentor in North Fond du Lac, I was hired by Lourdes and have been teaching in the Catholic school system ever since.

In 2006 I married my best friend, whom I had met while in Germany on an exchange program in high school. He lives in Germany, I live in the states, so naturally we got married in Scotland on the beautiful island of Mull! My teenage children have traveled with us to Scotland and Germany, Austria, and France, so they are learning the joys (and the hassles!) of international travel.
