About me |
Mr. D? Who is this Mister D? Mr. D is actually Mr. Carlos (Charlie) Delanuez. I was born in 1964 in Bogota, Colombia in the other America... South America. My family moved to Miami, Florida in 1967 where I lived for 20 years until I joined the US Air Force in 1987. In the Air Force I was trained as a combat meteorologist; I was a Weather Observer at Ft. Rucker, AL, and a Typhoon Duty Assistant at the Joint Typhoon Warning Center in Guam. Afterwards I went back to school at Chanute AFB, IL to become a Weather Forecaster, and that's where I met my wife. My next assignment was right here in Georgia at HUnter Army Airfield in beautiful Savannah. I left active duty in 1996 and joined the 159th Weather Flight and the Florida Air National Guard where I was the Chief of Weather Station Operations. I retired from the military in June 2011. While in Florida my wife and I lived in Orlando for 10 years. During that time I attended and graduated from the University of Central Florida. My first and only teaching position in Florida was at Palm Lake Elementary as a 5th grade teacher. I spent 7 years there before we decided as a family to move to Georgia, and that's how I ended up here at Carmel. I have three beautiful daughters; Veronica, Cecillia, and Maria, and we are very happy to be here. My wife just graduated from Reinhardt College this past Spring and I recently completed graduate school at Walden University. I absoultely love teaching, I am also a musician (guitarist/singer/songwriter), a runner, a cyclist, and in my spare time I enjoy watching football... Go Canes! Oh and by the way... I am Batman |

I love teaching, and I love being able to use technology to help differentiate my instruction and assessments. |
