Summer Online Arts Appreciation June 16 - August 8, 2014
Welcome to class!
Below is our schedule for the summer. Our quizzes, tests and projects will all be due on Mondays by 11:59 pm. Quizzes and tests will be posted on QUIA from June 17 until the Monday due date. This means you can work ahead with ease. If you have places to go, people to meet and things to do that interfere with your class schedule, just plan ahead and take the quizzes before they're due. All the quizzes and tests are open from the beginning of class. They're closed on their Monday due date. We have several actual art projects and you can work ahead with these too. The projects can be either scanned or photographed and emailed to me at: catherine.dunn@smrhs.org
UNIT 1
Week 1: Assignment: Read Chapters 1 and 2 in "Art Talk" and do online activities. Quiz due by Monday June 23rd. ( The quiz will be open from June 16th until 11:59 pm on June 23rd, this follows for all the other quizzes, tests and projects which will be open from June 16th but will have a Monday due date, 11:59 pm). Please feel free to work ahead.
Week 2: Assignments: Read Chapter 3 in "Art Talk" plus online activities. Quiz due by Monday, June 30th at 11:59 pm.
PROJECT 1: Contour Line: Self-Portrait. See directions in folder marked "Projects". Due also on Monday, June 30th at 11:59 pm.
Week 3: Assignment: Read Chapter 4 in "Art Talk" plus online activities. UNIT 1 TEST due by Monday, July 7th at 11:59 pm .(There is no chapter 4 quiz, it is part of the Unit 1 test.)
UNIT 2
Week 4: Assignment: Read Chapter 5 and 6 in "Art Talk" plus online activities. Quiz due by Monday July 14th at 11:59 pm as well as ART PROJECT #2 .
PROJECT 2: A Masterpiece: Your Version. See directions in folder marked "Projects"
Week 5: Assignment: Read Chapter 7 and 8 in "Art Talk" plus online activities. Quiz on 7 and 8 and UNIT 2 TEST due by Monday, July 21st at 11:59 pm.
UNIT 3
Week 6: Assignment: Read Chapter 9 and 10 in "Art Talk" plus online activities. Quiz on 9 and 10 due by Monday, July 28th at 11:59 pm.
PROJECT 3: Finding Color: A Monochromatic Still-Life. See directions in folder marked "Projects".
Week 7: Assignment: Read Chapter 11 and 12 in "Art Talk"plus online activities. UNIT 3 TEST due by Monday, August 4th at 11:59 pm
YOUR LAST ASSIGNMENT, ART PROJECT #3:FINDING COLOR: A MONOCHROMATIC STILL-LIFE, WILL BE DUE ON THURSDAY, AUGUST 7TH AT 11:59 PM

****Our quizzes, tests and projects will all be due by the posted Mondays at 11:59 pm. Quizzes and tests will be posted on QUIA from June 16 until the due date. This means you can work ahead. If you have issues with taking a quiz in the time period it is posted ( ie, you are at camp, in space or way out of the country) you will have plenty of time to do them ahead of time! For the art projects, you can either scan or photo your piece and email it to me: catherine.dunn@smrhs.org.
