This is my 21st year teaching in Georgia and my tenth at RMS. Prior to teaching at Ringgold Middle School I spent eleven years teaching in Whitfield County. I have taught 4th-8th grades. In addition to teaching, I have twenty-four years of coaching experience, including five years coaching JV Baseball here at RMS.
I have an Ed. S. (specialist) degree in Leadership, an M.S. in Sports Management, and a B.S. in Geography. In addition, I took classes and received my teaching certificate from UT-Chattanooga. I am fully certified in math, language, social studies, high school history and geography, elementary education, and ESL.
I was born in California, but grew up in Gainesville, Florida. I have been married for 31 years. My wife's name is Elizabeth. We met while we were both students at the University of Florida. We have two cats (Oso and Pomo). Before becoming a teacher I was the Athletic Director at Portland Community College in Portland, Oregon. My hobbies include trail running, photography, and storm chasing. I also spend time following Florida, California, and UTC athletics.
