Hello students & parents. Welcome to my quiz, assignment and practice website. Here students will have the opportunity to complete assignments, take quizzes and tests, and practice for my tests and quizzes using the games that I have set up for each particular unit. I have some general rules for assignments, quizzes and tests so that learning takes place outside of the classroom for lower-level knowledge, saving time in class for labs, discussions, and higher-order thinking.
ASSIGNMENT QUIZZES: Students are able to retake quizzes up to 3 times, with their last score being kept for the grade book. For multiple choice questions, instant feedback will be given as to right or wrong answers. For short answer and essay questions, Mr. Jetton will grade and provide feedback to students so that they can improve their scores on quizzes, if and when the retake them. Mr. Jetton has an expectation that students will review their quizzes, and perhaps print them out, so that they can improve their scores. Quiz assignments may be taken outside of class, and are open notes.
ACTIVITIES: Activities have been created by Mr. Jetton to aid students in developing effective study skills outside of class. Students should begin studying with vocabulary activities such as flash cards matching and word finds. Students should then begin to utilize the mid-level activities such as rags to riches, battleship, and cloze to practice and master their understanding of the concepts of biology or Earth science. While it is expected that students will have the notes open when they begin the activities, to demonstrate mastery of the content student should be able to complete the activities without notes open. |
