My name is Mrs. Detter and I have a B.B.A. in Finance from the University of Houston (Go Coogs!). I spent 16 years working in the human resources/employee benefits industry at Kellogg Brown Root, Riviana Foods Inc., and Hewlett Packard prior to teaching. I came to Klein Forest High School in October 2008. I love teaching, especially at Klein Forest because the students and staff are amazing. The moment I walked through the front doors of the school, I felt like I was back home in Canada, everyone was so friendly. Golden Eagles Soar!
I teach Career Prep (co-op) and Financial Math at Klein Forest and I'm also the department chair for the CTE Business and IT Department.
Who's that in the picture with me? Oh, that is my daughter, Kristen. I'm so proud of her. She is a graduate of University of Texas. I spend time with my husband and our loyal and hyper border collie. A dog who believes she's a cat that can curl up on your lap. |

Envision every class will be successful. Encourage students to learn by using different software applications, educational simulations, Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) based games, and approved websites in lesson plans each day. Be consistent with classroom management and procedures. Follow up with each student's progress, monitor daily attendance, and respond immediately when there are signs a student is struggling (missing, late assignments, poor test grades, and disengagement). Keep students in class. We want every student to be successful in developing their career and technology skills. |
