About me |
As your Mondays intermediate English teacher with REEP at Arlington Mill, I'm learning from you as much as you learn from me. It's true. I'm studying for a master's degree in English as a Second Language and learn by observing and participating in our class. I've been learning about teaching pronunciation and English word order, reading, writing and oral skills (listening and speaking) to adults. I've also learned about how adults learn second languages. I have three classes to finish and must complete a capstone project. The capstone is the last requirement and involves writing a long paper called a thesis. I haven't decided what to write about but hope to figure it out in the next few months. Hopefully, I will be finished at this time next year (2016) Otherwise, I have a son in college and my husband is from Nicaragua. I am fairly fluent in Spanish and have studied a lot about the Japanese language that I can't remember now! I live in Arlington about a five minute drive from Arlington Mill Community Center. My religious faith and cat are both joys in my life. I play the piano and like to keep in touch with friends. |

Always remember that your teachers are walking alongside you on your path to learn English. We are in class to help you be better communicators. I encourage you to take chances and answer questions, speak and write when you have an opportunity. Demonstrate your learning! When I ask for volunteers, be the first to raise your hand! That is my best advice. |
