Dear Parents,
My name is Jorge Enrique Bonilla, the new Spanish teacher at Oakhill Academy. I am very glad to welcome you and your child to my Spanish classes. I am a native Spanish speaker, born and raised in Costa Rica. I have a B.A. and a M.A. in Spanish and am fully credentialed by the State of California to teach Spanish from the kindergarten through college levels. I have been teaching Spanish and bilingual education for 25 years at elementary, middle, high school and college levels.
I am planning to use the Muzzy program from the BBC as our part of our curriculum for learning Spanish. I have had great success with this program. It does not require a textbook, which is a great advantage in these hard financial times. I will supplement the Muzzy program throughout the year with other lessons and creative approaches to foreign language learning, based on the students’ needs.
