Welcome to my portfolio, I am Jeff Roberts and I have been a Special Education Teacher for 21 years, twenty of those in Brown County, Kansas for BCK-SEI. Now I teach in Kansas City Missouri for the North Kansas City School District at Maple Park Middle School.
The story of my teaching career could be summed up by the phrase "No hablo Espanol". I have been the only Special Education Teacher in the high school buildings in each of the districts I have taught in. I have always taught in a interrelated classroom/resource classroom. Students have come to me for instruction in every course with the exception of Spanish.
I have often had several different subjects being taught concurrently. I believe developing better technology skills will enhance my ability to work with students in different courses during the same class hour. I look forward to the changes and challenges of this program. I am ready to change the way I have taught in the past to become more effective and give students more opportunities to be challenged and learn. |
