About me |
I earned a Ph.D. from the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Southern California. Professionally, I was Chair of the Communication and Technology Division of the International Communication Association. As you might guess, most of my research investigated the impacts of "new" communication technology--in organizations and local communities. From time to time, I teach research methods and organizational communication at National University. As a member of ICA and the Academy of Management, I've consulted for the U.S. Department of Commerce, the FAA, Hewlett Packard, and the City of Santa Monica on organizational change and the implemetation of new communication technology. Before I became a university professor, I flew USAF aircraft--7,000 flight hours in fixed wing and helicopters. One of the biggest career surprises for me was that academics and pilots have way more in common than most folks in each group realize. Presently, I live in Santa Monica CA.
