About me
Who is Ms. Wynn?

Hello students and parents, I will be your Foods I, Teen Living, Foods II, and Exploring Life Skills teacher for the 2010-20111 school year. A little bit about me:

I am the eldest of three children (daughters). I am a military brat who was born in Tucson, Arizona. My parents divorced and we, my sister, mother and I, moved to Columbia, North Carolina near the Outer Banks on the eastern coast of North Carolina.

I came from a family where education and hard work were highly valued, so this is where my passion for teaching and learning began to blossom and grow.

After graduating high school in Columbia, North Carolina. I attended my father's Alma Mater, North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in Greensboro, North Carolina; where I matriculated and received my Bachelor of Science degree in Child Development and Family Studies. After graduation I worked for a preschool, until I decided to teach high school at Parkland Magnet High School, where I taught for three years as a Family and Consumer Sciences Educator.

I have just finished my Master's degree in the Family and Consumer Sciences Education in May 2010. I am looking forward to being back home in Columbia, North Carolina where my first journey and love for learning and education came to existence.

I am anxious and excited about my classes this year and am really looking forward to working closely with my students and their families this upcoming school year.

Thanks and welcome to an awesome school year!

Hello students and parents,

I have done this particular way of testing at my previous school. It may be time consuming to some, but it can be very passive, if the student tries to make every way possible to take his/her quizzes on line. This is just a reinforcement of information that we learn in the classroom. By no way is this a replacement of teaching or learning in the classroom. Though, we are trying to prepare our students for the work world as well as going into secondary education. I feel this is the best practice for them, because it gives them a chance to become more responsible for their learning. It also helps me to understand the data of testing a little more, so I can get more of a grasp and handle on what students need more help and in what topics of our curriculum. Again, parents and students alike, I am looking forward, to what I like to call my "homecoming" year at Columbia High School. I look forward to working with each one of you.

Thanks,
