I graduated from Lincoln High School in 1982 and Fairmont State College in 1986 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Vocational Home Economics and in 2005 I completed my Masters degree in Educational Technology through Salem International University. In 2007, I completed my National Board Certification in Career and Technical Education. Also, I completed my Technology Integration Specialist certification in 2011. After graduating from FSC in 1986, I taught school in Germany for 3 years for the Department of Defense and then taught from 1989-1993 at Clay County High School. After returning home to Harrison County, I began teaching at Lumberport Middle School in 1994 and currently teach at Lincoln Middle School. I have been truly blessed to be married to my husband. Jeff Kerns and to have my three sons, Mark, Mason, and Mathew, a wonderful daughter-in-law, Bre and of course my beautiful granddaughter Elianna and grandson Owen..
