I am an avid reader and writer. I am so THRILLED to be working as a Reading Specialist at North Fork Middle School! :) I enjoy working with ALL the wonderful people at NFMS.
I am a mom of a 12 year-old daughter. She is very active in dance, so I am a " dance mom" instead of a "soccer mom." :) We enjoy reading and talking about books together. In fact, she is a great resource for me on wonderful young adult books. She just started middle school this year, so it is an exciting time in our household. I am married to a wonderful man and I have a cat named William who thinks he is a dog.
I also enjoy scrapbooking and making cards, but I don't get to do this as often as I would like to. I enjoy event planning as well. I practice on my family with themed dinners. I try to get a workout in every day whether it is my 5 mile walk, the Wii Active or the xbox 360 kinect. I do make sure that I get a brain workout in every day... I READ! :)

Two Reading Incentives are being offered - Share your joy of reading!
1. NFMS Recommends- Everytime you read a book be sure to fill out the book recommendation form. I will post your recommendation on the bulletin board, and you will be entered in a chance to win a $25.00 gift card for Walmart. THERE WILL BE A WINNER EACH SEMESTER!!!
2. Family Fun Reading- At the end of each six weeks fill in the form to show what you and your family read that six weeks. You are then entered to win a family fun night for your family. It includes a game and a $20.00 gift certificate to Italian Touch in Mt. Jackson.
