About me
Ms. Melanie L. Walton a native of Dayton, Ohio. She has been teaching Biology and Chemisty in the Science department at Peachtree Ridge High School since 2004.  Ms. Walton graduated with a B.S. degree from Tuskegee University with a double major in Animal Science and Biology and Georgia State University with a M.Ed degree in Science Education.  Ms. Walton's certification is in both broad field science and biology.  She began her career in the private sector working as a Cytogeneticist at Emory University.  After several years as a Medical Technologist, Ms. Walton worked as an adjunct professor at Gwinnett Technical Community College and Science Department Chair at Mill Springs High School in Roswell, GA. a private school that addresses the needs of students who have learning differences.  In 2000, Ms. Walton began her work as a public school teacher in Gwinnett County High Schools.  She has taught science at Norcross and Shiloh High Schools in the subject areas of Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Ms. Walton is married to Ronald and has three lovely daughters, Arielle, Aja and Amiya.
