About me
I was born in Lascari, Sicily, Italy. In 1969, I came to America as a pre-teen; I attended a Catholic junior high school and received my high school diploma from Baltimore Polytechnic Institute. I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Education and Languages from Towson State University and did my graduate work at  McDaniel College in Curriculum and Instruction. I have been teaching for 38 years, the last 28 at Hammond HS.

I speak 4 languages- Italian, Spanish, French, and English. I have been the ITL of the World Languages/ESOL Department for 12 years and currently teach Italian 1-4AP, Spanish 3H.  I founded the HHS Italian and Spanish Honor Societies and sponsor the Italian Club and Italian Honor Society.  For the last ten years I have served on the Howard County Foreign Travel Committee  and have taken ten student educational tours abroad to countries such as Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, and Morocco. I have also traveled to Mexico, Germany, and Ireland.
I  coached sports for 27 years, including tennis, indoor track, and soccer (boys and girls). My soccer teams have won two State Championships, two Howard County Titles, and two Regional Titles.  I have been married for 32 years and have two children. Among my  many interests are my family, traveling, photography, sports, music, and watching foreign language films.
