About me |
My BA is from Emory and Henry College in Interdisciplinary English. I attended Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia where I obtained my MA in English with a specialization in Creative Writing and Children's Literature. I completed my course work for my doctoral degree at East Tennessee State University, and I currently teach distance composition courses at Ivy Tech Community College in Richmond, Indiana. Although I feel that my title is Professional Student, I hold a more important title--MOM. I have a daughter, Sarah, and a son, Brad. After losing my four-legged first baby, Grunt, (a red dachshund) seven years ago at the old age of 19 1/2 our family felt a bit empty, but we now have a new rambunctious four-legged boy in our family to fill the void. Willie will never take Grunt's place, but he has definitely carved his own niche in the family. My hobbies, besides chasing Willie around, include traveling, reading, and writing. I am a world traveler. Some of my favorite spots include: London, England; Isle of Skye, Scotland; Edinburgh, Scotland; Oxford, England; St. Thomas, U S Virgin Islands; and Paris, France. If I could make a life for myself somewhere else, I would fill my days sitting in Hyde Park--in London--writing. Writing is how I would like to make my livelihood. It seems to me that putting words to paper and creating other worlds is the perfect occupation for me. |
