I am very excited to have each and every one of you in my class this year! As most of you know, this is my first year teaching. I am looking forward to a wonderful year full of fun and excitement, and most of all, learning!

New Announcements:
- We are collecting Boxtops for Education, Tyson Chicken Labels, and Community Coffee Labels. Please send any labels that you have to school in a baggie with the student's name, grade and homeroom teacher on the bag.
- If your child is absent due to an illness or a doctor's appointment, please send in a written excuse or a copy of the doctor's excuse form. If your child is sick for more than 3 days, a doctor's excuse us required before returning to school.
- Please send a note with your child if there is any change in their normal afternoon transportation. The office must know this information. A copy is also kept in the student's file. If you know that your child is going to check out early, please send a note to school. This will help make sure your child gets all of the important information they may need for the day.
- Quia is updated every week. Please check Quia every Monday afternoon, after 3:00 in the afternoon. You can find valuable information on this website. You may check your child's homework assignments on this site, and find out other important information that you might need to know.
REMINDERS:
- Spelling City is available to practice spelling each week. If you go to spellingcity.com and click on "Linda Owens". All of the lists for the year are there.
- BINDERS: We will use a binder to help keep the students' work neat and organized. There is a place for everything that we do in school. In this binder, there is a "Return to School" label and a "Notes Home" label. Please make sure to check these folders every day for important information. Please, remind your child that an organized binder will eliminate any added stress from lost papers. This will also help your child be more organized. Please do not clean out the binders at home. We will do this at school to make sure no important papers are thrown away or misplaced.
- If your child is walking anywhere after dismissal at any time during the school year, please complete a "Walker's Release Form". Please let me know if you need one of these forms.
