After teaching reading for nearly 20 years, this year I am excited to take on my dream classroom: 6th grade interdisciplinary! For the 2018-2019 school year, I will teach ELA through the reader's and writer's workshops, Math and Science. My amazing teammate is Ms. Rumble: she teaches ELA, Social Studies and Science. We look forward to an outstanding year with our team 6-6 students at Ray Middle School!
I graduated from LeMoyne College and SUNY Oswego with NYS Teacher Certifications in Social Studies 5-12, PreK-6 General Elementary, and Reading K-12. An area in education that interests me greatly is understanding how the brain receives, processes and stores information: I aim to use the knowledge I have on this subject to help my students better recognize their learning preferences and strengths. In doing so, together we work to support them during the inevitable struggles and celebrate their many successes!
At home, my two sons and husband keep me busy! I love coffee, fashion, all things Disney, sitting anywhere with a good book, and am a sports enthusiast. On any given Sunday, you can find my family enjoying homemade sauce & pasta as I love to cook! I grew up in the CNY area and am proud to call it home still as an adult. Here's to an amazing school year!
