About me |
I have been involved in education for forty years. Although I have taught 8th grade most of my career I have also taught at the high school level. I have been trained at Texas A & M to teach AP Human Geography and incorporate many of the readiness skills for AP into my current classes. I am actively involve in the Arizona Geographic Alliance and have attended several geographic institutes through ASU and National Geographic Society in Washington, D.C. In 2008 I was honored to be one of seven teachers nationally to receive the Middle School Distinguished Teaching Award, through the National Council for Geographic Education. I am the Arizona Coordinator for the National Geographic Bee competition, a job that I love to do. My husband, Jerry, is a 1972 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and we were the first couple to be married after graduation. We have two daughters and six granddaughters. |
