GO MEERKATS!
This is my 4th year at Morningside Community School. Previous to working at Morningside, I worked for the Special Education Dept. at Williamstown Elementary School.
I have two daughters, Samantha (21) and Sandra (17), who have taken an active role in my classroom at Morningside. They have assisted in my classroom as a tutor. Sandra assists in many of the Morningside activities, such as babysitting during the Parent/Teacher Conferences and helping during Family Fun Night.
I have a 1 year old black lab named Cody and two cats - Kandi and Whiskers.
I enjoy reading, kayaking, hiking, rollerblading, crocheting and photography.
Reading is very important to me, and I hope to make it an important part of you/your child's life. I am building a class library that students are always welcome to borrow books from, and I hope they do often. I challenge each year's class to read 100 chapter books, and as of this past year, both graduating classes hit 200 by the time they graduated!!!! The class had voted to enjoy "Horton Hears a Who" during their lunch, then an ice cream sundae desert afterwards. I am hoping that this year's class will be up to my Reading Challenge and that we will be able to enjoy many wonderful books together!
I hope you have had a restful summer and are ready in September! We will be learning so many wonderful things, like Nonsense Poetry, Vikings, American Revolution, Rocks, Minerals, Volcanoes.....the list goes on and on :-)
