Welcome to Johnson High School's Graphic Communications Program. My name is Mr. Porter and I am the program's instructor. I have 19 years of printing/graphics experience and have been teaching 16 years. I have an ED.S from Piedmont College in Classroom Management. Our program is Nationally Certified in PrintED which is managed by the Graphic Arts Educational Research Foundation, GAERF. We are also members of the Flexo Technical Association and Printing and Image Association of Georgia. Students in our program have many opportunities to advance their knowledge and training in Flexo Technology, Graphic Design and/or Printing Technology.
Participation in SkillsUSA,The Phoenix Challenge Foundation, and The Print Excellence Competition allow students opportunities to compete in various Graphic and Printing Competitions while developing leadership skills. Students have the opportunity to become nationally certified in several areas. Our program also offers advance training through the Work Base Learning Program here at Johnson High School. I encourage your child to consider a career in Graphic Communications. There are many opportunities available in this challenging and rewarding career. |
