About me
In 1996, I began my teaching career in my home state of Washington, at the Columbia Basin Job Corps.  In 1998 came to the valley  and began teaching at Southern Careers Institute, then Progreso High School for seven years.  In 2005, I transferred to IDEA College Prep for two years.  I left for a year with my husband to Austin and taught at Manor High School.  In 2007, I came back to help found IDEA Mission and taught there for two years.  In 2010 I was a founding teacher here at IDEA Pharr. (2010-2016) Then I went back to the Flagship and taught there as Technology teacher, then became Assistant Principal of Operations for a year, I decided to go back into the classroom as Special Education Teacher and managed the Special Ed team for three years. In 2015 I transferred to IDEA McAllen College Prep as Academic Counselor, to work for an amazing, Principal Mr. Alvarez.  In 2016 my father passed away and I took two years off to help care for my mom.  I continued to work part-time for Mr. Alvarez from 2016 to 2019.  I cam back to IDEA Pharr in 2019 fulltime as Testing Coordinator.  I am very happy to be back in the classroom as a Special Education teacher.

I am blessed with two wonderful girls Ysabel & Christine Hinojosa, both graduated from IDEA College Prep Donna.
