Part I is closed book/notes/internet, etc. Allow 1/2 hour for 100 possible points on this objective battery of tests on Vocabulary, Background, Forms, Analysis, etc. When finished, be sure to SUBMIT your work to Quia.

Part II: OPEN BOOK. Inform your proctor that you are allowed to use your textbook to complete the 60 point Translation section in Part I (I/2 hour). Be sure to label your looseleaf or computer printout with Name, Date, Term 3 EXAM Section II. AND be sure to label EVERY 5th LINE in margin (1-inch all-around). You may use pen or pencil and single or double space lines. Translate at least 20 lines in good, contemporary English prose or poetry.

A. Quote a favorite passage from the Aeneid. Cite your source. Write a well-developed Literary Analysis explaining
in why this passage has such strong appeal to the reader. Explain specifically how the Imagery, Figure(s) of Speech, and sound attract the reader; and how this passage contributes to Vergil's purpose in writing the poem. (20 points) (20 minutes)

B. LIST five (5) specific ways to generate interest in Foreign Language Learning in general and Latin in particular here in NHS and Kanawha County and beyond. (10 mins.) (20 pts.)
