Taking Oral Information and Putting the Information into Writing
Interviews This is an exercise in taking information from an oral source and putting it into writing. Interview two people and ask them if they think that the current recession is over. Find out detailed reasons that support their opinion. If they do not have reasons that support their opinion, you will have to interview a more reliable source. Summarize the information into two separate paragraphs. Make sure that you set up the paragraphs with a good topic sentence and then the details of the conversation that you have had with the person you interviewed. You do not have to quote the person interviewed. You can summarize their ideas. Be as objective as possible when you report their ideas. It is not an exercise in writing your own opinion. If the ideas expressed by the individual interviewed are not printable, put them into a more acceptable form that can be read by any audience. You want to set a tone that is honest but respectable.
