CASE STUDY 02 - Johnnie Bennett
Johnnie Bennett, age 7 years, is brought by his mother to the clinic because he has vomited and has had diarrheal stools for 3 days. Mrs. Bennett relates that 3 days ago Johnnie started to have a slight fever and cough. Today Johnnie vomited only after eating. His diarrhea is yellow and very liquid. Johnnie has no other symptoms, and his immunizations are up-to-date. Physical examination reflects a cooperative, alert child in no acute distress. There are no signs of dehydration, and his mucous membranes are moist.
