Growing Degree Days Worksheet
The GDD is figured by adding the maximum temperature and the minimum temperature in a day, dividing by 2, and subtracting 50. Because corn grows very little at 50°F or cooler temperatures, 50 is a constant. The maximum temperature used is 86°F. This is because temperatures above 86 do not increase the rate of growth. Temperatures above 86 are counted as 86. SHOW YOUR WORK!!
