Indirect Object Pronouns

Indirect Object Pronouns in Spanish are - me, te, le, nos, les. Often, a sentence will also have a "tag", or phrase that is the object of a preposition that will clarify or emphasize the indirect object pronoun. In Spanish, these tags can look like:
a mí, a ti, a Ud./él/ella, a nosotros, a Uds./ellos

Finding these tags will help with the translation of the sentence.

Remember that indirect object pronouns are often used with "passive" verbs such as gustar, encantar, fascinar, parecer, and doler. These verbs will either take on the 3rd person singular form if followed by a verb or a singular noun OR the 3rd person plural form if followed by a noun that is plural. (It's really "Ice cream is pleasing to me," and not "I like ice cream.") Therefore, they are conjugated as "gusta" or "gustan", "encanta" or "encantan", etc. and not with the
-ar endings you are used to seeing.
