Orientation - Class Motto - Assignment
From 1997 to 2002 Apple Computer used the slogan, "Think Different." This is also our classroom motto.
This ad slogan may have been inspired by IBM CEO Thomas Watson who in 1914 came up with the slogan "Think." At that time he was working for National Cash Register in Dayton. He remarked, "Thought has been the father of every advance since time began. 'I didn't think' has cost the world millions of dollars."
"Think Different" is grammatically incorrect (different is an adverb). It should be "Think differently;" however, this is an ad slogan and it's author is using "fanciful" writing.
We'll discuss in class what it means to "Think Different." All you need to know is your class motto.
