Calculating Growing Degree Days
Use the following formula and example to help calculate the growing degree day problems. Show all your work! Don’t forget that 50 is a constant and 86 is the maximum highest temperature figured. Example: Low temperature = 68°F, high temperature 84° = F 68 + 84 = 152/2 = 76 – 50 = 26 GDD
