Read the story and answer the questions.

A New Friend
Angela and Jimmy were friends. They rode bikes together. They read stories. They liked to swing. Every day they
would play together.
Sometimes Jimmy went to Angela's house. Angela's mom would cut apples for them to eat. They would sit
outside under the tree. They would read stories and eat apples. Angela asked her mom to take them to the park to
swing. Angela's mom was a writer. She worked at home. She had to get her writing done. She could not take them to
the park.
Sometimes Angela went to Jimmy's house. They rode bikes on the sidewalk. Jimmy's mom made them cookies
with funny candy faces. Then Jimmy asked his mom to take them to the park to swing. But she was too busy with
Jimmy's baby sister.
One day a new boy moved next door to Angela. Jimmy and Angela saw him from Angela's back yard. He sat by
himself on a swing. He looked sad.
"Let's ask him to play," said Angela.
"What will we say?" asked Jimmy.
"We'll say, 'Hi,'" said Angela.
"Hi," Angela called. "My name is Angela and this is Jimmy. Do you want to play?"
The little boy looked very happy. "My name is Akash," he said. "Would you like to swing?"
"Yes!" Angela and Jimmy said together. They ran right over to Akash's house. They took turns swinging all
afternoon. Then Akash's mother made them all milkshakes. Now Jimmy, Angela, and Akash play together every day.
