Argumentative Essay -- "The Best Team, Artist, or Group"

Pick a favorite sports team, artist, or musical group, do some research online or in books, and find three vivid and distinct topics or attributes. Your goal will be to argue that yours is the best among others. Obviously your choice will be your opinion and judgement, but you'll back it up with facts. Points will be awarded based on 1.) selecting three distinct, vivid topics, 2.) backing your opinions with facts from research, 3.) using the outline set forth below, and 4.) assembling sentences that are clear but also complex and rich in detail.
For your research online, use search engines such as Google, to find news articles or websites you are writing about. To find useful websites, try using a variety of keywords that are specific. Wikipedia and other online resources will have information as well. Cite your sources by copying the web addresses and document or website titles in the “field” below.
Write your essay in Microsoft Word, save it, and proofread and spellcheck it. Identify the different parts of your essay with the outlining Roman numerals and letters and put paragraph breaks between sections. Paste your essay into Quia. In terms of support, facts and statistics should be presented in sentences that are clear but also have complexity and detail. You should also use stories beside facts and statistics to give us engaging and colorful reading.
