Panel Disc. Qs - Outsiders (PRINT A COPY!)

After reading a novel, we sometimes have a panel discussion. For this, students assume the role of characters from the stories and think about how their character would act, what motivates them, and what they would say. The students representing characters need to stay “in character” and describe the events of the story from their point of view. Classmates who are part of the audience ask the questions that they come up with for homework. (Characters need to come up with and ask questions, too, since this panel discussion has many characters.)

Questions are best when they really allow the characters to describe and expound on their thoughts, feelings, choices, decisions, challenges, motivations, and actions in the story. Questions should give characters opportunity to talk, not have yes / no answers. You could review the novel and your active reading questions to come up with good questions for these characters.

You can copy and paste these "question stems" to get started.
What was on your mind when...?
How did you feel when...?
What were you thinking when...?
Why did you choose to (do, say)...?
When this happened, what did realize or decide was best to do?

I think it should work to write down your questions once, then submit and then print out before clicking "Done." (Or find another way to print. Make sure you have a paper copy for class!) Put your name on your paper copy.
