Besides writing analytically, students can show that they have learned about a book by writing creatively, too. They can demonstrate knowledge of its characters by having those same characters in their story act and talk in ways that are consistent with how they are depicted or characterized in the novel. Likewise, the settings, imagery, and actions can also be plausible and show congruency.
