Jack is 8. He is able to communicate using an Ipod touch and a communication program. At school, he makes eye contact and talks to people in the hall if the assistant prompts him to answer. He is able to remove his coat , get his own lunch out of his backpack and to walk to places in the school in line with his classmates. At lunch, he waits in line to get milk, pays for his milk with assistance from the cafeteria staff, goes to the table by himself, and eats independently.
His IEP objectives state that he will : a. greet people using his Ipod touch , b. get ready for class independently, c. have a brief conversation with peers, and d. make a purchase using a dollar bill
Field trip- Jack’s class is going to Natural Bridge. All of the students will bring some money to buy a souvenir or a drink. They will ride on the bus, then line up to give their tickets to the staff. They will eat at picnic tables .
