Stage 3, Quiz 4: The Verb "to be"

The verb "to be" can come in many different forms: is, are, was, were, etc. It can be used as a regular verb or as a linking verb. When "to be" is a regular verb, it shows where the subject is (Caecilius is in the forum). When "to be" is a linking verb, it tells us what the subject is (Caecilius is happy; Caecilius is a banker).
Please answer whether the verb "est" in the following sentences is used as a regular verb or a linking verb.
