Once there was a small bubbling stream. It was a happy steam. Its clear waters ran quickly over the rocks and pebbles. Many plants grew in and around the stream. Fish lived there. Small animals came to drink from its cool water.
One day a big factory opened near the stream. In the factory, workers made many useful things. The factory also PRODUCED lots of dirt. To get rid of the dirt, the factory people just dumped it into the stream.
Soon the stream was full of the factory's dirt. The water wasn't clear any more. The plants stopped growing. The fish couldn't live there any more. No more animals came to drink. The people didn't do anything about it.
