Writing with Participial Phrases
REMINDER: A participial phrase contains a participal and its modifiers, and acts as an adjective to describe a noun or pronoun. Participles are verb forms that usually end in -ing or -ed (like bruising or bruised), but some participles have irregular endings (like run or frozen). Watch out for these! DIRECTIONS: In the box below each picture, write a sentence about the picture that uses a participial phrase to describe the subject. Example: "Beyonce, lifting her head, sang loud enough for all to hear." There are more examples after each picture. If you think your answer is not correct after seeing those examples, you may use the dropdown menu at the upper right corner to backtrack and change it.
