8 - 6b: Checks & Balances

The Constitution gives each of the three branches of the federal government ways to check the actions of the other two. Read each action below and describe how it can be checked by and which branch of government. Each question is worth 2 points- one for the name of the branch doing the checking and one for the check. If necessary, refer to your notes or Chapter 5 in your textbook (pages 129-131). There is a wonderful chart on page 130.
