Verb Tenses - Simple Future

The Simple Future Tense is used to express an action or situation that will occur in the future.

It has two different forms in English: "will" and "be going to."

We use “will” when the subject is volunteering to do something in the future or deciding to do something in the future while speaking.

Examples:

I will translate the email, so Mr. Smith can read it.
Will you help me move this heavy table?
I will not do your homework for you.

Sometimes the simple future tense is expressed using “am,” “is,” or “are” with “going to.”

This form is used when something is a plan. It expresses the idea that a person intends to do something in the future. It does not matter whether the plan is realistic or not:

He is going to spend his vacation in Hawaii.
I'm going to be an actor when I grow up.
Michelle is going to begin medical school next year.

The simple future tense is also expressed by using a verb in the simple present tense form with an adverb or adverbial phrase like tomorrow, next, later, soon, next week, etc:

We leave for Venezuela next Tuesday.
Yin performs her piano solo next.

There are two types of questions in this assessment.

Follow the appropriate instructions for each question type:

1) Fill in each blank space with the future tense of the verb in parentheses. Each question will indicate whether "will" or "be going to" should be used.

2) Choose the correct word or phrase to complete each question.

Before submitting the test, check the following:

Punctuation and capitalization
Spelling
Spaces (don't add any unnecessary spaces)
