Literary Terms -- Drama #1

These are literary terms useful for understanding the structure and conventions of dramatic literature, plays, or films.

The terms: acts, characterization, conflict, convention, climax, crisis, dialogue, dramatic tension, dramatis personae, exposition, falling action, flashback, foreshadowing, fourth wall, "in medias res," resolution or denoument, reversal of fortune, rising action, stage directions, subplot, subtext, zeitgeist

The idea is to use this activity as a method to learn these terms. After each of your answers in submitted, it is corrected on the spot, and you get to see how you did. You get "instant, nonjudgemental feedback," which is an effective way to learn. You are quizzing yourself, and each time you do the activity, especially if you do it over a number of days, your score will likely improve each time. Note: some of the images, which are part of the learning process, won't be on the quiz itself.
