Introduction to Comparison Shopping
When shopping, you often need to look at more than one item's price, but other aspects as well. This is called comparison shopping. One thing you may look at is the amount of each item as well as the price. If you have found an item that sells for less per unit, then you have discovered the better bargain. Example: Which is the better bargain? 2 pounds of bananas for $1.00 or 3 pounds of bananas for $2.00? To find the answer, divide the cost by the amount to find the price per unit: $1.00 divided by 2=$0.50 per pound $2.00 divided by 3=$0.67 per pound In this example 2 pounds for $1.00 is the better bargain!
