These are wishes one does not expect to be fulfilled. In German they end with an exclamation point. Just as English uses the particle only, German uses nur. In most instances nur follows the subject and pronoun objects but precedes all other elements. Express in German following the model. Model: Klaus hat viele Vorurteile. (If only he didn't have so many prejudices.) Wenn er nur nicht so viele Vorurteile hätte!
