Genetics Writing Prompts

Choose 1 of the following writing prompts. Use information from the video we watched to support your points. Your paper should have 4 paragraphs: Intro, main body 1, main body 2 and conclusion.

1. Scientists have been working on genetically engineering food for many years. In your 1st main body paragraph give 2 pros and 2 cons of genetic engineering food. In your 2nd main body paragraph give your opinion on whether we should or should not genetically engineer food.

2. Since we can use DNA fingerprinting to catch criminals, why not have every American give a DNA sample so everyone is on file to make it easier to cathc criminals. Write 1 paragraph supporting this and 1 paragraph explaining why it would be a bad idea.

3. Should we doe genetic testing for diseases, especially those that have no cure. Write one paragraph explaining why we should and one paragraph explaining why not. Besure to take into account employment and health insurance into your answer.
