Pancreas and Diabetes Worksheet

The pancreas has two jobs. It makes several enzymes needed for digestion. It also makes homrones as part of the endocrine system. Clusters if cells in the pancreas called the Islets of Langerhans make these hormones.

The Islets of Langerhands have two types of cells: alpha cells and beta cells. Alpha cells make the hormone glucagon. Beta cells make the hormone insulin. Together these hormones help control the amount of glucose, the sugar in the blood. Use the diagrams and images provided to answer the questions.
