Lesson 27 - Firefly Lamps

Jason sat on his back porch on a warm evening. He watched the fireflies blink on and off in the yard.

"I wish I could keep a firefly for a pet," he thought. But Jason knew that fireflies can not survive long if they are kept as pets.

Just then Jason had an idea. He went to the kitchen and found six large jars with lids. He asked his dad to cut holes in the lids for him. Then Jason went back outside and caught a firefly for each jar.

Jason placed the jars along the edge of the porch. He would free the fireflies very soon, but for a few minutes, he wanted to enjoy his firefly lamps.
